MAISON BOUHON Brothers. Pair of chased and gilded bronze fires with a flamed Athenian decoration on a fluted half-column on a torus base of oak leaves. Facing each other, a pine cone surmounts a spinning top decorated with a water-leafed base. The whole is joined by a frieze of laurel leaves and applied post frieze. Signed. Louis XVI style. High. Width: 43 cm - Width: 42 cm - Depth: 15 cm. Bouhon Frères, known as "Bouhon et Cie", specializes in the production of spark arrestors, fire chenets and fireplace accessories. This Parisian manufacture was awarded a gold medal at the Universal Exhibitions in Paris in 1878 and 1900, as well as in Brussels in 1897. A similar model sold at Christie's London on 12 December 2002 under number 131.
