CITROËN 11B "traction avant", 1950. Serial... - Lot 2 - Le Floc'h

Exterior appearance: excellent and accessorized Interior appearance: excellent with leatherette upholstery (seats and doors) Michelin retread tyres in very good condition. Introduced in 1934, the "Traction Avant" featured a self-supporting body with independent wheel suspension, a very low profile, front wheel drive, etc. The "Traction" stood out from the French and international production of the second half of the 1930s. Ahead of its time, it was the spearhead of the brand with the chevrons until the presentation of the famous DS twenty-one years later. Reliable, robust and comfortable, the "Traction" was a huge technical and commercial success with families, notables, politicians, industrialists, gangsters and bandits. The universal and unifying character of the model is not debatable. It is a mythical car which still represents France very well and which has survived the passage of time without losing any of its aura. The model presented here is an 11B that offers a great deal of space, much more spacious than its little sister, the 11 BL (light). It was first registered in December 1950 and belonged to the father of the former owner. This family had been Citroën specialists since the 1930's in Saint Cloud in the present premises of our Le Floc'h office. The car's file contains an original spare parts catalogue for 7 and 11 (Traction AV 1934/1957), a practical and technical guide for Traction AV repairs (1946 edition), the maintenance manual (1950 edition) and above all a small booklet from the oil company BP for the conscientiously informed revisions and maintenances From the first approach, one notices the excellent general condition of this Traction 11B. The enthusiast will recognize the rare "Speed" aluminium wheels, both luxurious and sporty. A spare wheel of the same type is present. The fully chromed Marchal Equilux headlights and the beautiful fender crests add a refined touch. The chrome grille was reserved by the brand for the 15/6 model but some owners did not hesitate to install one on their 11B. The Robri fender flares are of the larger model. Historically clear, this car has only been registered once and only two registrations have been issued to the same family in 71 years. Very sound, this splendid over-equipped traction from a historical specialist of the brand is certainly a first choice piece for the enlightened amateurs of the model.
