Pair of finely chased and gilded bronze andirons representing a child on an acanthus scroll, his arms stretched out towards the other end of the andiron to warm his hands towards a fire pot. The base with fluted doucine resting on six small toupie feet (one toupie is missing). Louis XVI style. Height : 30,5 cm 30.5 cm - Width : 41 cm - Depth : 12.5 cm After the model of Jean-François Forty made in bronze by Jean-Noël Turpin in 1785. A copy kept in the Camondo Museum in Paris. Erratum: an error has crept into our paper catalogue: the sheet for lot 348 corresponds to the photo of lot 339.
