Eduardo PISANO (1912-1986). Nude with a... - Lot 24 - Le Floc'h
Eduardo PISANO (1912-1986). Nude with a bouquet. Oil on paper mounted on cardboard signed in the upper left corner. Height : 53 cm 53 cm - Width : 44 cm Provenance : private collection, Saint-Cloud. Artist of Spanish origin, Eduardo Pisano arrived in France in 1939 and then settled in the Montparnasse district. He joined many Spanish artists already in Paris such as Manuel Angeles Ortiz, Antoni Clavé, Grau Sala. He also met Oscar Dominguez, a surrealist artist. He first obtained the support of Jacques Vidal, a framer of Catalan origin. In 1967, he met André Licoys, an industrialist and collector from Clodoaldi, who, taken in admiration by his paintings, became his patron. The work of Eduardo Pisano is characterized by the predominance of color, surrounded by black. Very attached to his native land, which remains for him a source of inspiration, he paints numerous landscapes, scenes of rural life, flamenco dancers and torreros in an ochre palette. His life in Paris is also reflected in his art, by themes of his bohemian life as nudes or portraits of women. He was a multidisciplinary artist, who worked in both painting and drawing and also made monotypes. The artist was the subject of an exhibition at the Musée des Avelines, Musée d'art et d'histoire de Saint-Cloud, from November 18, 2021 to February 13, 2022.
