Bronze statuette representing a helmeted Athena wearing the chiton and the leonté, the left arm raised and folded (missing the attributes of the hands and the crest). Rome, 2nd-3rd century. Height 10 cm high Cubic base of yellow marble. Provenance : Collection of Mr Paul A. (1899-1976), former director of the chalcography of the Louvre, founder then president of the Presses Universitaires de France from 1934 to 1968. Accompanied by a declaration on honor of the daughter-in-law of the collector confirming that the object comes from the collection of her father-in-law.
