Bronze statuette representing a Koré or a goddess standing, one arm apart from the body, the hand in spatula, wearing a long dress and pointed shoes (broken right arm). Etruria, 5th-3rd century B.C. Height Height : 9,5 cm Cubic base of yellow marble from Siena. Provenance : Collection of Mr. Paul A. (1899-1976), former director of the chalcography of the Louvre, founder then president of the Presses Universitaires de France from 1934 to 1968. Noted "ach. 1951, Aphrodite, small flat Kore, Etruscan art, 6th c. B.C." on a handwritten slip. Accompanied by a declaration on honor of the daughter-in-law of the collector confirming that the object comes from the collection of her father-in-law.
