1966 NSU Sport Prinz Serial number 41 18... - Lot 1 - Le Floc'h
1966 NSU Sport Prinz Serial number 41 18 523 Engine number 47 238 717 First hand Service booklet Rare, interesting and nice model Designed in Italy by the master Franco Scaglione, the NSU Sport Prinz is a two-seater sports coupe with a pleasant and taut line in the best style of the late 50s. The space available in the rear allowed for luggage or occasionally two small children. Only 20,831 were produced between 1959 and the end of 1967. The engine, coupled to a 4-speed gearbox, is a twin-cylinder engine which evolved little from 583cc to 598cc in 1961. The front disc brakes appeared in 1964. With its 30 hp, the claimed top speed was 130 km/h. The model presented here has a very clear history as it is a first hand model. Imported by the C.E.I.D.A. (Compagnie Européenne d'Importation et de Distribution Automobile), this Sport Prinz Typ 41 was registered on August 3, 1966 and delivered three days later by the Etablissements GLON of Villejuif (94) to Miss Marie-Rose H., an inhabitant of Fresnes who worked in a medical analysis laboratory located in her home. Used regularly but not very often, the NSU had a little misfortune on March 30, 1980. While it was stopped at a traffic light, it was hit at the left rear by a Citroën GS. The damage was not serious and was repaired with new and used parts, everything is documented in the file. If the exterior is fine, slight deformations, vestiges of this collision, are still visible in the engine compartment, it is obviously without incidence on the running of the car. Even if there are some traces of corrosion on the underbody, the bodywork, largely in original paint, looks quite good with a touching patina. Apart from some wear on the driver's seat, the original upholstery is in good condition. The front compartment, luggage compartment is splendid, the spare wheel is present. The engine positioned at the rear has a good general aspect testifying not to have been dismantled but simply maintained. The user's manual and the maintenance booklet are present. This NSU Sport Prinz has been regularly and meticulously maintained up to the mileage that its odometer shows since the technical control of 21/12/2005, i.e. 96,779 km. It should be noted that Marie-Rose H. has covered most of this distance over thirty years between 1966 and 1996, an average of 3,200 km per year. Being a Parisian, she also used public transport as shown on the SNCF/RATP Orange Card of 1988 which is in the file. This NSU, which has always been parked in a garage, had 96,357 km in 2000, which is almost what it has today. It will therefore be necessary to plan a general overhaul before going back on the road serenely. A first hand car of more than 50 years old is always a sensational discovery. It's even more attractive when it comes in the form of such a nice and successful little sports car as the NSU SportPrinz. Having been idle for more than twenty years, this is an opportunity that won't come around again anytime soon. *On this lot the fees are 14.28% (fees 11.90%, VAT on fees 2.38%).
