After James PRADIER (1792-1852). Sapho. Brown patina bronze, signed and stamped Susse Frères (lyre missing, minor wear to patina). Height 22.5 cm - Width: 24 cm This bronze replicates the marble sculpture created by James Pradier in 1852, for which he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor at the 1852 Salon. It adorned the Château de Saint-Cloud until 1872 and is now on display at the Musée d'Orsay. A white-veined black marble base is included.
