Note: Félix Maurice CHARPENTIER entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1877. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes français and was awarded the silver medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle. This prize helped him gain notoriety and attract the attention of the French government, which commissioned him to create several decors for public buildings. The female figures on the facade of the Gare de Lyon, for example, are similar to our work in their poses and treatment of the body.
