SÈVRES.
Round covered ecuelle and its oval tray in second-rate soft porcelain with polychrome decoration of couples of shepherds, children, sheep and dogs in six oval reserves surrounded by garlands of gold foliage on a beautiful blue ground, rosette braid and gold trellis on the edges.
Marked in blue: LL interlaced, letter-date U for 1773, painter's mark Charles-Nicolas DODIN, gilders' marks LEGUAY and VANDE.
18th century, 1773.

Very good condition.
This bowl is most probably the one appearing in the Manufacture's sale register dated October 23, 1773, delivered to Madame Dumesnil for 300 livres with a 27 livres reduction described as follows: "1 Ecuelle 2e et plateau fond beau bleu pastorale de Dodin" (Arch MNS, Vy5 f° 118).
