CHINA. Votive sword made of Chinese sapèques. Qing Dynasty 18th century. Length : 44 cm Designed to ward off demons and bring good luck, abundance and fortune (Feng shui). The coins are all tied together. Sapèques were brass coins with a square hole in the center. These coins were made by casting, an ancient Chinese manufacturing technique.
