contemporary Francesco Casanova. Although he didn't write his "memoirs" like his brother Giacomo, his life was no less adventurous.
adventurous, as his career took him across Europe. He spent most of his life in France, between 1758 and 1783, where he enjoyed great success. Best known for his battle scenes, he also painted a number of lively landscapes that have been compared to those of Fragonard. He also produced numerous tapestry cartoons for the Manufacture de Beauvais, then under the direction of Jean Baptiste Le Prince.
