Antonin MERCIE (1845-1916). "Gloria Victis". Bronze with double brown and gilded patina (minor dents, a few scratches, one arm detached). Signed on the terrace, founder Barbedienne in Paris with reduction stamp A. Collas. Height Height : 95 cm Note: this model was presented at the 1872 Paris Salon, where it was awarded the Medal of Honor. This bronze, 2.20 m high, was installed in 1884 in the main courtyard of the Paris City Hall, where it remained until 1930; it is now housed in the Petit Palais.
