Francis LIMERAT (1946-2023). Construction. Assemblage de bois dit "allumettes" (slight accidents). Signed and dated 1976 on the back. Height 68 cm - Width : 38 cm A similar piece is kept at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris under inventory number AMS 552. According to Francis LIMERAT, whose work can be associated with the modest art movement: "The match corresponds to the elementary stage of learning". Francis LIMERAT was born in Algiers in 1946. Painter, sculptor and draughtsman, his work revolves around the conception of space. After more than 70 solo exhibitions in France and abroad, his work has also been exhibited at numerous international contemporary art fairs and galleries in Paris. In addition to the MAM in Paris, his reflections and works are also featured in several museum collections, including the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, the Musée d'art moderne de Céret, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the BNP in Mexico City, and others.
