In-12, first volume only of the first edition of Cicero's Discourses by Simon de Colines, copied from Aldus' three-volume edition of 1519, illustrated with an engraved title frame and sifted-ground lettering.
Bound in full contemporary brown calf, the boards decorated with cold-stamped fillets and framing friezes, stamped in the center with three crowned fleurs-de-lis and fleurs-de-lis in the spandrels, all edges gilt and richly chased.
A fully-regulated copy.
