LOMBARDI (François). Oratio habita in Synodo Tridentina die sancti Stephani protomartyris. Brixiae, Ludovicum Sabienses, 1561. Booklet in-8, illustrated with a title vignette featuring Pope Pius IV's coat of arms supported by two nude figures. Bound in period red silk, the boards embroidered with silver thread on a yellow core, with the ecclesiastical coat of arms framed by a vegetal frieze and palmettes at the spandrels. Ex-libris Josy Mazodier. A very rare example of a 16th-century embroidered silk binding.
