Paris, François Montalant, 1715. 2 volumes in-4, second edition, illustrated with a folding plate and 7 hors-texte plates featuring execution scenes and the Imperial Palace. Bound in full contemporary marbled calf, the boards framed with a garland of the Compagnie de Jésus, 5-ribbed spine stamped with the figure of the Compagnie de Jésus at the tail, the caissons decorated with fleurons on the first volume and fleurs-de-lys on the second. (missing headpieces, rubbing, restorations and small snags to binding, leather missing from spine, freckles, wormholes mainly in margins sometimes affecting text and engravings in second volume, a few raised quires in second volume, tear without missing title page of first volume).
