French school of the beginning of the 20th... - Lot 46 - Le Floc'h
French school of the beginning of the 20th century. Bouquet of flowers on an entablature. Oil on cardboard signed, dedicated "to Mr. G. de Yturri small souvenir PCB" and dated August 1901 at the bottom left. On the back a label: "Souvenir de Gabriel de Yturri offert à Albert Flament par leur ami Robert de Montesquiou". Height : 32,5 cm 32,5 cm - Width : 46 cm (at sight) Gabriel de Yturri (1860-1905) was the secretary and companion of Robert de Montesquiou. He worked for a time for Baron Doasan, one of Marcel Proust's models for the character of Baron de Charlus in A la recherche du temps perdu. Albert Flament, journalist, literary critic and novelist, painted portraits of social life in the Revue de Paris. Our still life, by its subject and the softness of its colors, forms a singular evocation of the passing of time.
