Paul Théodore FRANKL (1886-1958). Coffee table, the base with two oval legs of eighteen stacked rattan sticks, the rectangular top with rounded corners veneered with palm wood (scratches on the varnish). Around 1960. Height : 40,5 cm 40.5 cm - Width : 102 cm - Depth : 56 cm Viennese architect and designer, Paul T. Frankl settled in New York - and was inspired by skyscrapers -, then in Los Angeles, and contributed to American modernism. He innovates in the conception of forms and in the choice of materials, using cork veneer, metal or steamed and curved rattan. His rattan furniture is published in Japan by the firm Tochiku MFG. CO. LTD. for an international clientele.
