Paul Théodore FRANKL (1886-1958). Buffet barded with steamed and curved rattan, then superimposed, opening with four doors and three drawers in the belt (wear and tear). The surrounding of the doors, the front of the drawers and the top in blond wood veneer. Circa 1960. Height : 91 cm 91 cm - Width : 177,5 cm - Depth : 60 cm Metal plate on the back : "TOCHIKU MFG.Co Ltd Tokyo Japan". Viennese architect and designer, Paul T. Frankl settled in New York - and was inspired by skyscrapers -, then in Los Angeles, and contributed to American modernism. He innovates in the conception of forms and in the choice of materials, using cork veneer, metal or steamed and curved rattan. His rattan furniture is published in Japan by the firm Tochiku MFG. CO. LTD. for an international clientele.
