Émile JOURDAN (1860 - 1931). Breton washerwomen on the banks of the Aven, 1880. Oil on canvas monogrammed and dated lower left, with annotations in ink on the back. Height : 27,5 cm 27,5 cm - Width : 35,5 cm Note : Emile JOURDAN, originally from Brittany, trained in Paris, then got closer to the painters of the Pont Aven school and adopted the precepts of Paul Gauguin, to produce a synthetic painting characterized by large areas of color and dark rings. He represents the landscapes and scenes of life of his native region with singularity.
