Paris October 26, 1790; vellum obl. in-4 partly printed, header Brevet de Garde national, engraved decoration.Brevet de Garde national issued to René Couet Charpentier, a 55-year-old native of Tierret in Anjou, registered on June 6, 1790 in the Compagnie de chasseur du Bataillon, where he served successively as Fusillée (?) and Caporal. Engraved by Nicolas, the upper part features the arms of the city of Paris and four flags, with Justice on the right and the Republic breaking its chains on the left. The lower part depicts the storming of the Bastille in a cartouche surrounded by cannons and flags, illustrating the motto Qui servient bien sa patrie n'a pas besoin d'ayeux.
