Note: Marina Bulgari, better known as Marina B, is considered one of the most emblematic women jewelers of contemporary haute joaillerie. Born in Rome in 1930, she is the granddaughter of Sotirios Bulgari, founder of the famous Bulgari house, and the daughter of Costantino, who headed the company between the wars. She soon joined the family firm, where she worked for many years, acquiring both technical and creative expertise. In 1973, she succeeded her father at the head of Bulgari, marking a decisive step in her career. In 1976, she took the bold decision to leave the company and launch her own brand, Marina B.
From the outset, Marina B made its mark with a unique, contemporary and refined style. In 1978, she launched the iconic Onda and Pneu lines, famous for their innovative frames, the use of pavé diamonds and the introduction of interchangeable elements. Two years later, in 1980, she introduced the Chestnut cut, which has become her iconic motif.
